This spring, the US will host leaders from around the world who will gather here to discuss global issues at the Nobel Peace Laureate, G-8, and NATO Summits. The American Writers Museum Foundation will use this occasion to initiate a national conversation about the role books play in helping shape people's perceptions of other countries and cultures. A key goal is to stimulate the interest of readers across the county in exploring the cross-cultural influence of literature. We invite you to join the discussion by responding to the following questions:
1.
If you could recommend two or three books
- fiction, nonfiction, drama, or poetry - to the world leaders who will be gathering in the U.S. in May for the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, G-8, and NATO Summits to help them gain a better understanding of America, what would they be?
