Janet Hulstrand is a writer, editor, and educator. She created, developed, and teaches a series of “Literary Adventures” in Paris, Florence, Hawaii, and Cuba for Queens College, CUNY, as well as her own Writing from the Heart workshops. Hulstrand writes about reading, writing and travel at Writing from the Heart, Reading for the Road, and her essays and articles have been published in the Christian Science Monitor, Smithsonian.com, Bonjour Paris, France Revisited, USA Revisited, Humanities Education, and International Educator. Her first book, “Moving On: A Practical Guide to Downsizing the Family Home,” received widespread notice in the national press, and she and her coauthor now blog at Downsizing the Home: Lessons Learned. Her business, Winged Words Editorial Services, serves clients from a wide range of professions and industries. Hulstrand is a member of the International Women’s Writing Guild and the Women’s National Book Association. She is working on her next book, “A Long Way from Iowa: Living the Dream Deferred,” a literary memoir.
